Frequently Asked Effortless IVF ™ Questions

Frequently Asked Effortless IVF Questions

Patients often have questions about Effortless IVF ™ treatments and what differentiates the procedure from traditional IVF. Effortless IVF ™ treatment bypasses a lot of the time and labor-intensive phases of traditional treatment, allowing us to offer Effortless IVF ™ at a significantly reduced cost to our patients. If you have any Effortless IVF ™ questions, the team at our Dallas area office will be happy to answer them for you. What makes Effortless IVF ™ different from traditional IVF?

A revolutionary new device called an INVOcell allows us to avoid a majority of the laboratory work involved with traditional IVF. After the eggs are retrieved, they are mixed with the sperm inside the INVOcell. The device is then placed inside the mother's vagina, which provides optimal conditions and replaces the need for a lab incubator.

What steps are involved with Effortless IVF ™?

First, there is an initial patient pre-cycle evaluation, which consists of a series of tests. You will then take a pre-determined dosage of fertility medication that will stimulate the production of more eggs. On the 10th day of your cycle, you will undergo a single sonogram that will determine when the eggs will be retrieved. Once retrieved, the eggs will be mixed with the sperm in the INVOcell device and placed inside the vagina. After about five days, the developing embryos will be transferred to the mother's uterus. For high response patients or couples undergoing "reciprocal IVF", embryos are frozen at this point. A frozen embryo transfer is performed with the next menstrual period.

Is the procedure complicated?

We call it "Effortless IVF ™" because it does not involve the same time requirements as traditional IVF. Our simplified system only requires two to three doctor visits during treatment, as opposed to the almost daily appointments required for traditional IVF. Additionally, the medication dosage is pre-determined based on the patient's weight and AMH level, so there is no need to constantly monitor hormone levels.

Who is a candidate for Effortless IVF ™?

Many patients who qualify for traditional procedures are also candidates for Effortless IVF ™ treatment. Our new procedure may be beneficial for patients with blocked or damaged fallopian tubes, endometriosis, or problems with ovulation such as PCOS. Effortless IVF ™ is not for severe male factor infertility, but may be beneficial for men with low sperm count or motility. One of our specialists can perform an evaluation and determine your candidacy.

How long does a single Effortless IVF ™ cycle take to complete?

A typical cycle can be completed in about three weeks, from the initial consultation to successful transfer of the embryos to the uterus. If embryos need to be frozen as described above, the frozen embryo transfer is performed about 2.5 to 3 weeks after the start of the next menses. However, it is important to remember that with all IVF treatments, more than one cycle is often needed before successful pregnancy is achieved.

What are the chances of successful pregnancy with Effortless IVF ™?

We have seen the same success rates with Effortless IVF ™ as with traditional procedures. In fact, the fertilization rate with the INVOcell device is slightly higher than that of the lab incubator.
