Am I a Candidate for Effortless IVF?
When considering in vitro fertilization (IVF), there are certain requirements you must meet to be a viable candidate. While effortless and conventional IVF have similar prerequisites, there are some cases where one may be a better choice for you.

When considering in vitro fertilization (IVF), there are certain requirements you must meet to be a viable candidate. While effortless and traditional IVF have similar prerequisites, there are times when one may be a better choice than the other.

At Effortless IVF in Bedford and Fort Worth, Texas, our experienced fertility specialists, Dr. Kevin Doody and Dr. Kathleen Doody, provide the following information about standard IVF requirements.

Requirements for effortless IVF candidates

You must meet several requirements to be considered a candidate for effortless IVF, including:

  • Younger than age 45
  • Weigh less than 190 pounds
  • BMI of 35 or less
  • AMH levels 0.8 ng/ml or higher

Alongside those requirements, you undergo several pre-cycle evaluations to ensure your hormone levels, uterus, and ovaries are healthy. If your partner is the sperm donor, we may also require a semen analysis to ensure the highest chances of success.

Is effortless IVF right for me?

Effortless IVF suits many couples suffering from infertility problems and seeking a low-cost, less time-consuming fertility treatment.

If you have limited access to fertility treatment near you, or your partner has sperm mobility issues, effortless IVF may be right for you. It’s also an excellent choice for women with tubal ligation or removal, blocked or damaged fallopian tubes, or an ovulatory condition like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

We review everything during the pre-cycle evaluation to help you decide whether effortless IVF could be an effective fertility approach for you.

When traditional IVF is best

While effortless IVF provides high success rates with less of a time commitment and lower costs, it’s not always a viable option. Conventional IVF is the right choice for individuals or couples who need any of the following:

  • Gestational carrier
  • Egg donation
  • Embryo biopsy or embryo testing

Conventional IVF is also the right approach for couples requiring sperm placed into the egg, or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).

Traditional vs. effortless IVF

In traditional IVF, multiple office visits are required for blood work, fertility appointments, and monitoring. Once it gets closer to the egg retrieval time, the doctor administers medication to finalize egg maturation. Once that’s completed, the fertilization process is done manually in a sterile lab environment, where the eggs are mixed with sperm and placed in incubators.

Effortless IVF, however, considers the patient's age, weight, and health to decide the best medication dosage. That dose remains unchanged throughout the process. Furthermore, a single sonogram determines when the recovery day will occur.

Then the egg is placed inside an INVOcell with the sperm, and set inside the vagina for the next five days before being transferred to the uterus.
